Virginia DGIF: Boater Safety Class

Hoffler Creek is proud to host a Virginia Boating Safety Classroom Course, courtesy of the Va. Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) and led by our own, weekend manager, Mike Reiss. This FREE course will take place in Hoffler Creek's Headquarters, starting at 9 a.m., on March 18th. Gates will open and check-in will begin at 8:30. This class normally lasts 6-8 hours with exam. (*A $5 donation to supplement supplies and facilities costs are encouraged but not required to participate.)

A thirty minute lunch break is scheduled. Local dining options are available but we recommend that participants bring a bagged lunch. Hoffler Creek only has light refreshments available. 

Boater Safety cards certifying completion of this course will be provided upon successful completion of the course. All personal water craft (PWC) operators and motorboat operators are required to have completed this course as of July 1, 2016. 

*Mike Reiss is a certified ASA Sailing Instructor and ACA Kayaking instructor with a lifetime of boating experience.
