Wild Rhythms, Healthy Rhythms

Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation and Becky Watson, MBA from Music for Wellness, LLC are teaming up to bring you a wild and wonderful drumming program that will help you find your personal rhythm while enjoying Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve, a natural haven at the heart of Hampton Roads.

No musical experience is needed to join the WILD RHYTHMS, HEALTHY RHYTHMS group drumming program, offered at 1p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Pavilion at Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve, 4510 Twin Pines Rd, Portsmouth, VA 23703.

The one-hour session will integrate group drumming with proven health strategies to support participants in their quest for well-being. Stay after for some snacks, drinks and conversation.

A wide variety of drums and other percussion instruments will be provided for all participants as part of the program. Please register by Friday, April 4th. Cost $15 for HCWF members, $25 for nonmembers.

The program WILD RHYTHMS, HEALTHY RHYTHMS will be based upon the HealthRHYTHMS® protocol developed from medical research that shows the health benefits of drumming with a group, including stress reduction, mood improvement and a boost to the immune system.

HealthRHYTHMS® Trained Facilitator Becky Watson, MBA, Owner, Music for Wellness, LLC will lead the session, which is open to everyone. A recent graduate of the comprehensive HealthRHYTHMS® training, Becky Watson, MBA credits the program to enrich the mind, body and spirit through music and WILD RHYTHMS, HEALTHY RHYTHMS.

HealthRHYTHMS® was developed after leading neurologist and mind-body researcher Dr. Barry Bittman, MD led a renowned research team in the first biological study on the effects of group drumming in 2000. Subsequent published research supports the program. For more information, visit remo.com/health.
