LnT at hoffler creek

You've found an egret sign! This scavenger hunt is designed to help you discover the seven Leave No Trace Principles. Learn more below about how this principle helps protect the wildlife and habitat here at Hoffler Creek.

Principle 7: Be Considerate of others

Outdoor ethics are about simple courtesy. At Hoffler Creek, we share our 142 acres with over 7,500 annual visitors. Help us ensure everyone has a peaceful experience.

share the trail

  • Yield to Others: Step aside to let oncoming hikers pass in narrow sections.

  • Step Carefully: If you must step off the trail to let someone pass, choose a durable surface (like a rock or bare dirt) to protect the plants.

  • Communication is Key: If you are moving faster, give a polite "Hello!" or "Passing on your left" before moving by.

let nature's sounds prevail

Visitors come here for many reasons—some for family time, others for solitude.

  • Keep it Down: Avoid loud voices or shouting.

  • Use Headphones: If you want to enjoy music or take a call, please use earbuds.

  • Stay Aware: Avoid noise-canceling modes so you can still hear approaching hikers or wildlife.

embrace diversity

Hoffler Creek is for everyone. We are committed to an outdoors where every visitor feels welcome, safe, and respected. Please do your part to foster an inclusive environment.
