Kick off the first day of summer the right way by taking a guided kayak tour of Hoffler Creek as the day winds down. Wrap up by catching the sun set over the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel from the James River.
Pricing is PER SEAT/PERSON for this event.
Individual children between the ages of 3 – 17 must book with a parent/guardian. Smaller children will be placed in the front seat of a double kayak with a parent/guardian.
EVERYONE is required to wear a provided life jacket.
Things to bring:
- Water Shoes (sandals, aqua socks, old tennis shoes etc. Your feet will get wet!)
- A strap to hold on your glasses or sunglasses
- Appropriate clothing, YOU WILL GET WET
- Towels to dry off
What to expect:
-Check in and sign waivers @ 6:15pm
-Walk to kayak area @ 6:30pm
-Safety check, life jacket fittings and kayak launch 6:45pm
-Leave dock, paddle starts @ 7:00
Your electronic devices are your responsibility. Devices could become wet or lost if taken on the water. Personal items can be locked in the Creekside Lab during your paddle at your request.
Kayak preference (single/tandem) must be requested at the time of purchase, but is not guaranteed.
No experience is needed. If you are new to kayaking or nervous a tandem kayak is recommended as they are more stable and easier to paddle with two people.
