HELEN W. KUHNS, Executive Director    

Helen Kuhns brings Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation over twenty years of nonprofit experience in environmental, conservation, and museum education as well as a vast network of contacts throughout the Hampton Roads community.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus in environmental science from Christopher Newport University which has guided her through her career. Helen works to bring environmental education to our communities, emphasizing the need to respectfully conserve the small parcels of nature we have left. She is an active steering committee member for  the Hampton Roads Alliance for Environmental Education. Helen exudes a passion for nature and outdoor experiences.  She recognizes that learning through nature is a lifelong endeavor, valuing the good that comes to all ages from interactions with the natural world. Most importantly, she is committed to the Hoffler Creek’s mission of conservation through education, research and recreation.
