Non-native plant removal project

  • Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve 4510 Twin Pines Road Portsmouth, VA, 23703 United States (map)

Come help us with our ongoing work to manage the habitat at the preserve on Thursday afternoons in until March 22nd. We'll use this time of year to focus on unwelcome non-native invasive plants throughout the preserve including privet, English ivy, and honey suckle. Activity may vary from mild to heavy physical exertion.

Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing including long pants and sturdy shoes. Long sleeves are recommended. Bug spray might not hurt as the weather starts to warm up. Activities will proceed even in light rain but severe weather (lightning, snow/ice, etc.) may result in a cancellation of this event.
