Fall Festival: a Safe Trick-or-Treat event

  • Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve 4510 Twin Pines Road Portsmouth, VA, 23703 United States (map)

Join us on Sunday, October 29th, for our 2017 Fall Festival, a free and safe trick-or-treating event. That day we’ll be joined by goblins, ghouls, superheroes and storybook characters along with dozens of our local partner organizations who will share their work with nature or on the environment - and a little candy.

We’ll have a free spooky trail walk, face-painting, crafts and games, and activities galore - with an emphasis on the creepy crawlies that you might find in the Chesapeake bay watershed!  Put on your favorite costume (no masks please) and join us for a whole day of fun here at the preserve!

Also, we're looking forward to the debut of our NEW Free Little Library that day, so bring a book to exchange and get your picture taken with some of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters.

We'll also have s'mores and cider available, a lake-side hayride, and more! No registration is necessary. Just swing on through on October 29th for a taste of the wild side here just before Halloween!

Please note that we may request a small donation for participation in some activities, such as the hayride, to help us offset the cost of materials or equipment. Bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to the FoodBank of Virginia for a discount on the Hayride and to help support their great work here in the area.
