Early Bird Walk
Saturday, December 14th: Join ODU Professor of Biological Sciences, Eric Walters, for an early morning bird walk. Fall migrants are beginning to stop for a rest on Lake Ballard so there should be quite a bit to see. Bring your eyes, ears, and binoculars.

HCWF is putting our “almost new” Audubon wildlife guides “on sale” for the holidays. Buy 1 Guide get the 2nd for half price. So, buy 1 at the regular price of $10 and get the 2nd for $5. Finish filling out your favorite naturalist’s collection with National Audubon Society Field Guides* on: Wildflowers, Mammals, Trees, Reptiles & Amphibians, Butterflies, Insects & Spiders, Birds

December 15, 1 pm: Winter Crafts: Come make winter decorations, ornaments, or pinecone birdfeeders. All ages welcome. $5 non-members, FREE for members.
Winter Tree Walk
January 18th, 10 am. Take a walk with State Forester Mike Aherron and learn to identify HCWP's trees in winter.
Polar Bear Walk with Mayor Wright
February 15th, 2014, 11 pm: Join Mayor Wright and Get Health Portsmouth! for a Polar Bear Walk around Lake Ballard at HCWP.
